AGIP Participates in INTA Board of Directors Meetings

WASHINGTON, DC - Mr. Charles Shaban, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) executive director and member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) Board of Directors took part in the INTA Board Meeting held in Washington.



 
The meeting discussed several issues related to INTA, committees' reports and the 2014-17 strategy.
The event also witnessed the participation of keynote speakers: HE Ambassador Miriam Sapiro, Deputy US Trade Representative, Office of the United States Trade Representative who tackled the role of the Department in anti-counterfeiting with a special focus on the anti-counterfeiting trade agreement (ACTA).
In addition, Dr. Steve Crocker, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Chairman who discussed the new gTLD program that ICANN will introduce early next year.
"We had an excellent meeting in which several issues were discussed and tackled recommendations for the coming five years. I also participated in the Trademark and Internet Conference which discussed several issues related to trademark protection on the Internet, and the new gTLD program," Shaban said. 

INTA Board elected Mr. Sha'ban, to a three-year term making him the only and first Arab to become a member of the INTA Board.
