NEW YORK – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Executive Director, Mr. Charles Shaban, has been selected by the International Trademark Association (INTA) to co-chair the Middle East Global Advisory Council for 2014.

With the aim of accommodating better global representation of the Middle East region, and enhancing communication across the INTA, the Association has developed this new Council.

The Co-chair of the Global Advisory Group for Middle East will be responsible for:

• Communicating relevant issues or achievements in the Middle East. After every meeting and conference call, minutes will be drafted and circulated to INTA’s Communication Department in order to produce a consolidated global report on all regions/countries. This report will be disseminated to INTA membership quarterly.

• Playing an advisory role to grow Corporate Membership in the Middle East by identifying key potential members and proposing venues for workshops or receptions.

• Playing an advisory role in public policy/advocacy matters, such as identifying regional policy trends or issues that need to be addressed by the Association.

“This selection proves the trust INTA bestows upon us, it is a motivation for us to maintain the high quality of our work, and keep the world updated with trademark laws and practices in the Middle East region,” Shaban said.
