Over 9,000 delegates from the global trademark community will gather in Dallas, Texas for the 135th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) May 4-8, 2013.

Taking place at the Dallas Convention Center and Omni Dallas Hotel, the meeting will attract trademark owners, legal professionals and academics from over 140 countries, and feature educational sessions, networking events and discussion forums on key issues facing the trademark industry. Topics this year include the introduction of new generic top-level domain names (gTLDs), ethics, corporate social responsibility and the issues surrounding ambush marketing.

The program also includes an interactive session for local high school students featuring the Unreal Campaign, INTA’s first public awareness initiative which educates teenagers about the dangers of counterfeit products. Students will hear from brand owners and law enforcement representatives and take part in activities like the “spot the counterfeit” challenge to teach them how to avoid counterfeit goods.

The keynote address at the meeting’s Opening Ceremony will be delivered by Jerry Jones, Owner, President and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys franchise, on May 6.

The Annual Meeting is open to the press, who may apply for complimentary press passes through INTA’s media contacts, listed below. Press registration will be held onsite, but advance registration is encouraged. An Internet-enabled Press Room, located in Room D220 of the Dallas Convention Center, will be available throughout the meeting.
