Security & Safety in Dublin

Dublin is a safe and welcoming city with a low risk of security concerns for visitors. While demonstrations can occasionally take place, they are usually peaceful and cause minimal disruption. As in any major city, petty crime such as pickpocketing may occur, particularly in crowded or tourist-frequented areas. We recommend basic precautions such as keeping valuables secure and being mindful in nightlife venues or when using ATMs. Local emergency services are professional and responsive, and the city is well-prepared to manage any seasonal weather-related issues such as rain or storms.

In case of emergency, dial 112 or 999 to reach police, ambulance, or fire services.

Medical

Ireland offers a high standard of medical care across both public and private sectors. Emergency services are reliable, and a wide range of medications is readily available through local pharmacies. Visitors from EU countries should carry a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to access emergency public healthcare if needed. For non-emergency concerns, private clinics and general practitioners are accessible, though referrals may be required for specialist care. Overall, health risks are minimal and the environment is well-suited for international travellers.
