The Trademark Reporter Celebrates 100 Years of Publication

NEW YORK, NY - The International Trademark Association (INTA) announced the release of the 100-year anniversary issue of The Trademark Reporter®.

According to the Association, the landmark issue will highlight this past century’s most significant trademark cases and issues in the United States and in Europe, including anticounterfeiting, nontraditional marks, and Internet-related trademark disputes. The issue will also publish commentaries on the foresight of the author of a 1978 The Trademark Reporter article that predicted the future of trademark law.

The Trademark Reporter can trace its roots to June 1911, when the then United States Trademark Association (USTA) wanted to offer a companion publication to the USTA Bulletin. The Trademark Reporter was created as a publication that reported trademark decisions, as its name suggested. Since then, The Trademark Reporter has evolved into a law journal that publishes, six times a year, peer-reviewed works of legal scholarship. It is at the forefront of global IP and is the world’s only scholarly journal dedicated solely to trademark law and related topics.

“I believe I speak for all past and current members of the Editorial Board in expressing our pride in the continuous level of excellence that is embodied in The Trademark Reporter,” said Lanning Bryer, editor-in-chief of the publication. “Throughout its tenure, The Trademark Reporter has educated practitioners and the public in the research and understanding of trademark law around the world. And because of our rigorous editorial process, we have assured the publication of the highest caliber of scholarly articles that our readers have come to expect.”

INTA will celebrate the publication’s 100-year anniversary with a special reception at the Association’s 133rd Annual Meeting, which will take place in San Francisco, CA May 14-18.

The Trademark Reporter is available to individuals from member organizations of INTA free of charge, both in print and online.

The International Trademark Association (INTA) is a worldwide association of member companies and firms that support and advance trademarks and intellectual property as elements of fair and effective global commerce.
