WASHINGTON - The Business Software Alliance (BSA) joined TechAmerica and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) in urging Congress to support development and implementation of trusted identities online as part of a larger effort to spur robust growth in e-commerce, enhance cybersecurity and protect personal privacy.

In a letter to House Leaders, BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman, Phillip J. Bond of TechAmerica and Dean C. Garfield of ITI expressed strong opposition to a proposed House amendment to the FY2011 Continuing Resolution that would prohibit the use of funds for the digital identity ecosystem described in the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC).

The Business Software Alliance is the world’s foremost advocate for the software industry, working in 80 countries to expand software markets and create conditions for innovation and growth.
