WASHINGTON - The Business Software Alliance (BSA) praised in a press release the work of outgoing US Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra, and called on President Obama to replace the nation’s first-ever CTO with another visionary technology leader.

“Aneesh Chopra has been a tireless leader and advocate for the role technology can play in tackling our nation’s biggest problems,” said BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman. “Chopra looked at every challenge with a focus on how technology can increase efficiency, transparency, and government service to US citizens. We see that in the expanding role of technology in healthcare, in the government’s growing use of cloud solutions, in increased broadband access across the US, and in the rapidly growing smart grid. Chopra has set a very high bar for future CTOs.”

“Aneesh Chopra was a fantastic choice for our nation’s first-ever CTO,” Holleyman said. “I encourage President Obama to seek another leader who will bring the same level of energy, innovation and passion to the role of CTO.”
