Jordan News Agency and TAGITI Sign MoU

AMMAN - Jordan News Agency (Petra), the official government news agency of Jordan and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information Technology International (TAGITI), member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) signed on Wednesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business.

The MoU was signed by Petra General Director Mr. Faisal Al Shboul and TAG-Org Chairman Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in the presence of Head of Jordan Press Association Mr. Tareq Al Momani, Dean of Jordan Media Institute Dr. Abeer Al Najjar, a host of media attachés and media representatives.

According to the MoU, TAG-Org will provide Petra with various services in the field of e-solution mainly creating a portal and developing special sections on the Portal for each of Petra’s directorates in addition to offering the required training.

Moreover, Web Development Department at TAG-Org will develop Petra’s website including its layout design, news system, photos, events, audio files, search and the WAP system.

According to the MoU, TAG-Org will offer training courses to Petra staff within the 2012 training plan at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Professional Training, Amman Office, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society in addition to Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Translation.

From another side, Petra will provide TAG-Org with specialized courses in the media and press fields to be held and promoted by the Organization inside and outside Jordan. Meanwhile, Petra Training Center will be accredited for Cambridge exams.

Furthermore, media and technical cooperation will be established between Petra and TAG-Org’s Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Education specialized news agencies.

Shboul expressed his appreciation for TAG-Org’s support saying the Organization is considered a success story locally, regionally and on a global level commending at the same time its efforts to provide its services and programs all around the world which indicates, according to Shboul, the capacity of the successful professional Arab institutions to become global.

He also praised the active role exerted by TAG-Org represented by the various initiatives and projects which aim at boosting economic and social development.

Shboul stressed that Petra works tirelessly to present its journalists and reporters the latest technologies that help them cover events and activities.

From his part, Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his satisfaction and honor to cooperate with Petra which he described as “our media window” that serves the Jordanians and the country.

“Our cooperation with Petra is our duty towards the society and the country out of our commitment to our social responsibility,” he said stressing TAG-Org’s willingness to cooperate with all media outlets in the Kingdom.

Al Momani expressed his happiness to witness this cooperation between the Jordanian private sector represented by TAG-Org and Petra the leading media institute which is considered the school of the Jordanian media that is always keen to present a professional media message.

The MoU signed today comes in conformity with Petra’s message in developing the services it provides and in developing all other activities related to information technology and training. The MoU also falls within TAG-Org’s message in providing professional services to projectsm companies and businesses by providing them with the training, education, information technology services in addition to media and HR services development.
