AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) received an invitation from HE Dr. Leonel Fernandez, former President of the Dominican Republic to join the newly established Council on Arab Relations with Latin America and the Caribbean (CARLAC) with the Honorary Presidency of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.

Dr. Fernandez thanked Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for "his guidance and efforts in building a stronger partnership between the Arab World and Latin America and the Caribbean."

"It is my honor and pleasure to invite you to join the newly established Council on Arab Relations with Latin America and the Caribbean (CARLAC). As the Declaration adopted  at the recent Abu Dhabi Forum stated, the Council will be comprised of 20 recognized and highly qualified leaders from both regions," Dr. Fernandez, CARLAC chairman said in his letter.

In 2012, the Forum in Abu Dhabi focused on three core objectives: Economic and commercial opportunities as the basis of an intensified partnership, strengthening Arab‐Latin American educational, academic, scientific and cultural ties and building a mutual Arab‐Latin American vision on global issues.

"It will work to organize, coordinate and implement the modalities and structures necessary to execute the vision and the agenda articulated at the Forum. We deeply believe that leaders of your caliber, knowledge and experience are essential to optimizing the Council's work. We very much hope that you will do us the honor of agreeing to join the Council," he added.
