Abu-Ghazaleh Visits Aqaba, Initiates Development Projects in the Governorate

AQABA, Jordan – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh visited the governorate of Aqaba where he discussed development related issues focusing on investment and tourism sectors. 

During the visit Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh met with Aqaba Governor Mr. Hijazi Assaf; Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Mr. Nasser Shraideh; Director of Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management Eng. Mohammad Al Mobaideen;  President of the University of Jordan/Aqaba Branch Dr. Mousa Al-Lawzi; and Chairman of Aqaba Hotels Association Mr. Salah Al Bitar. That was in addition to Parliament member HE Ibrahim Abu El-Ezz and Mayor of Ma'an  Mr. Majid Al Sharari.

Discussions covered a number of key issues and community concerns affirming the significance of developing the region using the best tools and means of knowledge development on economic, tourist and social sectors.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh attended two panel which were planned for the occasion. In one he he met the faculty members and students of the University of Jordan/ Aqaba Branch; while in the other he met with  Hotels Association representatives. In both panels are related matters were fully discussed.

As a result and to offer some instant solutions, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh decided to establish a number of development projects and community services facilities that could serve investment, tourism and local community needs. They included:

1- Establishment of a new office representing Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization in the Aqaba governorate, to be temporarily located at the headquarters of the Engineers Association to accelerate its launch.
2-Establishment of one of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh colleges to become a center for professional and practical education at the headquarters of the University of Jordan- Aqaba branch, and to include the establishment of an authorized center for Cambridge English exams and qualifications to offer globally accredited English exams.
3-Establishment of a branch for Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute to teach Chinese language and culture in Aqaba.
4-Establishemt of a center to teach Information Technology.
5-Initiate a program for distribution of publications about Aqaba in Chinese to be distributed through TAG-Org offices in China (Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai) to promote tourism and investment in Aqaba.
6-Establishment of a branch for the Chinese Business and Investment Consulting Center, affiliate of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic Of China, to be managed by TAG-Org in the Arab region, the establishment of which has recently approved. 
7-Establishment of a knowledge station at Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
8-Establish an initiative to support the education of people with disabilities in the governorate.
9- Conduct discussions of  problems and challenges of tourist transportation with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ms. Lina Annab.
10-Establishment of an archiving center in the city to be run and operated by Jordanian women in Aqaba similar to TAG-Org’s archiving center in the governorate of Ma'an.
