LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) invites the community to join us for a public webinar on January 13, 2021 at 20:00 UTC [local times] to discuss the updated draft of the Operational Design Phase Concept Paper, according to the official website of ICANN.

The concept paper proposes an Operational Design Phase (ODP) that is to become part of the policy and implementation life cycle. The ICANN organization will conduct the ODP for consensus policy recommendations that are approved by the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council. The purpose of the ODP is to provide the Board with relevant information to decide, as required by the Bylaws, whether a recommendation is in the best interest of the ICANN community or ICANN.

An initial draft of the ODP paper was distributed to the Supporting Organization and Advisory Committee (SO/AC) chairs on 2 October 2020. Following community input during ICANN69 and several written community submissions, ICANN org updated the draft and shared it with the SO/AC chairs on 17 December 2020, requesting community input by 22 January 2021.

ICANN org will use the webinar to present the updated paper, answer any questions, and provide a forum for feedback. All feedback will feed into an updated final version of the ODP Concept Paper. The ODP framework will ultimately be incorporated into the Consensus Policy Implementation Framework (CPIF).
