AMMAN –  In its recently published report celebrating Jordan’s centennial anniversary, Time Magazine mentioned Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), as one of the most prominent Jordanian leading economic projects.

The report says: “As Jordan celebrates its centenary, its banking and business communities can look with satisfaction at the country’s rapid climb through the World Bank’s Doing Business rankings. This bodes well for Jordan’s ambition to establish itself as a regional business and logistics hub.”

The report also referred to investments of multinational, regional and domestic investments in the Kingdom, naming (TAGTech) as one of the most prominent projects which manufactures and produces laptops, tablets and smartphones with its own-brand-name (TAGTech) in China, to announce that a new TAGTech factory for manufacturing such devices is under construction in Madaba, Jordan.

Several meetings by the Magazine’s team were held with HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), during their visit to Jordan while working on the report.

The report further mentions that the main reasons behind Jordan's improvement in the World Bank's Doing Business rankings are the recent introduction of tax reforms, as well as the important role of the banking sector and the flow of foreign investments especially in the real estate. That is in addition to food production, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and ICT.

The Magazine also referred to the significant contribution of Jordan’s tourism industry, that has a considerable untapped potential as a regional hub, stating that ‘thanks to the swift response of the government to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan is set to be one of the first countries in the region to benefit from the expected surge in demand for overseas travel this holiday season.’
