LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced the continuation of the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program for ICANN75. The hybrid ICANN75 Annual General Meeting is being held September 17–22, 2022. The deadline for reimbursement program applications is September 2, 2022, according to the official website of ICANN.

How to Apply

Interested community members who meet the eligibility requirements must apply in advance of ICANN75. The application deadline is Friday, 2 September 2022, at 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time. Program details are available on the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program website.

As ICANN75 will be a hybrid meeting, only applicants who attend virtually are eligible for this program.

Background

The goal of this program is to facilitate participation in ICANN Public Meetings during the pandemic. It offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth.

Leaders from the three Supporting Organizations, four Advisory Committees, four stakeholder groups, five constituencies of the Generic Names Supporting Organization, and five Regional At-Large Organizations of the At-Large community all have the opportunity to nominate a limited number of recipients for the program. They will focus on members who are actively engaged in the ICANN community but may not have previously been eligible to apply.

Reimbursement amounts of up to US$60 will be provided to eligible applicants who purchase additional Internet bandwidth (capacity or data limits) for the duration of the month or billing cycle for September 2022. The services must be rendered by a business entity or Internet service provider, specifically for Internet or cellular data service. The provider must also provide digital or paper documentation of the upgrade costs.
