LOS ANGELES - In September, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board launched the strategic planning process for fiscal years 2026–2030, an important step in shaping the future of ICANN, according to the official website of ICANN.
ICANN's strategic planning process is designed to be highly inclusive, with participation from across the ICANN ecosystem and beyond. The process will result in a new five-year ICANN Strategic Plan.
The first phase of this process involves identifying external opportunities and threats, and internal strengths and weaknesses, that will inform the Board's strategy formulation. This phase is known as an environmental scan. ICANN held a hybrid community environmental scan session at ICANN78, which allowed participants to provide their input in person or online. If you missed this session at ICANN78, there is one more opportunity to get involved.

This will be the last session of the environmental scan phase in our strategic planning process.
