LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that the application window for the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2024 will open on Monday, February 26, 2024 00:00 KST (UTC+9), a press release stated by ICANN.

Hosted by ICANN and the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA), APIGA will be held on July 8–12, 2024 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. More details, including application information, can be found on the APIGA 2024 website.

What is APIGA?

Launched in 2016, APIGA is a five-day capacity development program focused on Internet governance (IG) targeting youths in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Through the program, participants will build a strong foundation in IG fundamentals. This includes guided pathways to continue participating in the IG space with ICANN, the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, the Internet Engineering Task Force, the Internet Society, and various other IG fora.

Participants will learn via immersive, hands-on sessions with dedicated mentoring by regional industry experts. They will also build a strong network of peers, APIGA alumni, leading APAC Internet organizations, and key APAC community leaders.

Past data shows that one in four APIGA alumni continue to participate in the IG fora locally, regionally, and globally.

Who Can Apply?

Individuals from the APAC region between the ages of 18 and 35 (both ages are inclusive) interested in Internet governance issues are welcome to apply. The application deadline is Sunday, March 24, 2024 23:59 KST (UTC+9).
