MUNICH – The European Patent Office (EPO) is launching a pilot series of bite-sized videos and podcasts designed to give inventors, startups, entrepreneurs, micro-entities and other businesses the tools to protect their technology with intellectual property (IP). Every Friday at 9.00 hrs., tune in to our YouTube, LinkedIn and “Talk innovation: unlocking technology” podcast channels for practical, actionable insights, according to the official website of EPO.

The initiative stems from the EPO’s steadfast commitment to simplifying access to the patent system and all its benefits for the entrepreneurial community. The pilot series will delve into many key topics, such as:

How owning of IP rights increases the likelihood of attracting funding
The value of patents, their costs and reduced fees for micro-entities and other organizations
Local support in your local language
Leveraging patent databases for research and development, forecasting emerging markets, identifying suppliers, customers and partners as well as research on competitors
The optimal timing to apply for a patent
Alternative paths for protecting technology

The new series complements our existing offer for inventors, startups, entrepreneurs, micro-entities and other businesses. These include stands and presentations at events, the “New to patents” section of our website, the learning activities of our Patent Academy and ongoing support for innovation networks such as patent information centers (PATLIB) across Europe and beyond.
