RIYADH - As part of its leading role in supporting international intellectual property efforts, Mr. Saud bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi has been elected to represent Saudi Arabia as a member of the Drafting Committee at the Diplomatic Conference on Design Law Treaty held in Riyadh.

Numerous Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are participating in this conference. This appointment reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s position as the official representative of the Arabic language, with the committee tasked with drafting the treaty texts in Arabic alongside other official languages of WIPO. This ensures accessibility and comprehension for Arabic-speaking countries and communities, according to the official website of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP).

This role is part of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property’s efforts to enhance international cooperation in intellectual property. Saudi Arabia's contribution aims to promote creativity and innovation by providing the means to register the rights of Arab designers and creatives and strengthen their presence on the global stage.

Through its role on the Drafting Committee, Saudi Arabia reaffirms its ongoing efforts to support the presence of the Arabic language in international forums, reflecting its pride in its Arab cultural identity.

Notably, Saudi Arabia continues strengthening its position as a key international supporter of intellectual property. It is committed to creating an environment that encourages global creativity and innovation
