LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) has completed reviewing community feedback on the proposed principles to update Internet Coordination Policy 2 (ICP-2) and incorporating it in a new draft document. The ASO AC now seeks community input on the revised document, the "Governance Document for the Recognition, Maintenance, and Derecognition of Regional Internet Registries," to update the current version of Internet Coordination Policy 2 (ICP-2), according to the official website of ICANN. 

The proposed "Governance Document for the Recognition, Maintenance, and Derecognition of Regional Internet Registries (RIRs)" ("the RIR Governance Document") sets forth

• Rules and criteria for recognizing new RIRs
• Operating obligations and requirements of RIRs
• Rules and criteria for derecognizing RIRs.

If adopted by ICANN and the RIRs, the RIR Governance Document would supersede and replace the ICP-2.

Submissions Opening Date: Monday, April 14, 2025.

Submissions Closing Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
