PHILIPPINES - The Ateneo de Manila University, through the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO), was honored with its fourth Platinum Award and first Palladium Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly held, at the Sequoia Hotel in Pasay City. This year’s summit carried the theme, “Empowering ITSOs Towards Global Recognition of Innovation Breakthroughs”, according to the official website of AIPO.

The Palladium Award — the highest distinction given by IPOPHL to the country’s top-performing Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) under the ITSO Clustering Program — was awarded to Ateneo for securing an international patent grant in Nigeria, marking a significant achievement for the university.

IPOPHL also announced a key milestone for the ITSO Network during the event, with membership reaching 100 after the addition of several higher education institutions.

This year’s summit celebrated ITSO members who successfully fulfilled the requirements and deliverables for ITSO clustering in 2024. It also introduced an updated ITSO clustering framework aimed at empowering members to drive greater innovation and deliver stronger impact through research and development.

Held annually, the summit recognizes the dedication, competencies, and contributions of ITSOs in delivering high-value technology solutions to society. AIPO remains committed to supporting innovators nationwide through initiatives and partnerships that build stronger capacities and encourage impactful innovations. This latest recognition reflects AIPO’s ongoing pursuit of its vision to become the country’s leading university hub for inspiring, protecting, and advancing solutions for society’s benefit.
