SPC and SPP Advance Judicial Protection for Intellectual Property Rights

BEIJING - The Supreme People's Court (SPC) of the People's Republic of China and Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held a joint press conference to release the judicial interpretation on handling criminal cases involving intellectual property rights (IPR) violations, according to the official website of SPC. 

Tao Kaiyuan, vice-president of the SPC, unveiled nine typical criminal cases of IPR protection at the conference, which involve common disputes over the application of law in judicial practice, reflecting the key principles of the newly released judicial interpretation and providing guidance for its accurate understanding and application.

Li Jian, chief judge of the Third Civil Division (Intellectual Property Division) of the SPC, and Liu Taizong, deputy director of the Procuratorial Office of Intellectual Property of the SPP, also attended the conference, which was chaired by Ji Zhongbiao, deputy director of the General Office of the SPC.
