ICANN Board Seeks Input on Bylaws Amendments

LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board of Directors has opened two Public Comment proceedings on amendments to its Bylaws for feedback, according to the official website of ICANN. 

These include Fundamental Bylaws Amendments relating to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Naming Function Review, the Customer Standing Committee (CSC), and the CSC Charter and a Standard Bylaws Amendment proposal to temporarily remove Bylaws mandates to initiate Specific Reviews during community dialogue.

For the Fundamental Bylaws Amendments, both topics relate to how the community oversees ICANN in its performance of the IANA functions. 

The Standard Bylaws Amendment contains a proposal to insert a Transition Article into the Bylaws that would address community concerns that ICANN is out of compliance with its Bylaws obligations on Specific Reviews.
